Females can be DNA'ed too if breeders want. If they are imports (with Export Pedigrees) - they must be DNA'ed if you want to register a litter now with AKC. But you do not have to DNA females if not imports.

If he is a carrier of the piebald gene - why would you breed him - does he have a lot of white on him? Here is a link about this:

Aditional tests? Yes check legs, knees, hips, heart, and eyes. I also get a full blood panel too besides the Bile Acid done on the ones I would breed. It just gives you more information. As you know it does not guarantee that their pups will have any problems, but does inform you more to make a better educated decision.
