I completely agree. The best dog I've every had BY FAR was a mutt named Rocky Noodle.

I grew up calling every dog that wasn't purebred a "mutt." Heck, I call our dogs "mutts" have the time.

I can't for the life of me figure out what the big deal is?

In my mind, you have purebreds and mutts. I guess because people pay big $$$ for a "designer breed" they want them called that. Who knows. There is no "politically correct" term to use. Regardless to what word you choose to refer to them, someone, somewhere isn't going to like it.
