I am an ER nurse. At my hospital we have emts and paramedics that work in the ER. Quite a few are also going to nursing school. I work at a trauma center so they get to see a lot of trauma and get a lot of experince. I just thought It was an option to look into. We mostly work 12 hr shifts. 7a-7p. 7p-7a or 11a to 11 p. Some even start working as RN's in the ER after school. (nursing shortage) it is a great way to get some experience. I started as an emt in the ER myself and worked through nursing school. good luck
