Max loves to swim for short periods of time. He lays on my beach chair with me and when he gets hot, he goes to the ladder and wants in. I am always with him and he actually only dog paddles for a little bit then wants on the air mattress. He seems to enjoy it. I worried about the chorine also, but his coat is okay - I try not to let him drink the water though, he has a dog bowl of fresh water by my chair. Hope this helps!
