We have a pool also but the guys don't like it....they love to hang around it & peer in it over the edge but not go in....a couple of years ago one of them fell accidentally in the pool a couple of times during the summer while I was out there cleaning it, I was always a few feet away...I went running over to him to get him out & I could clearly see the fear in his eyes, he was dog paddling but I could tell if I had not been out there he would have keep treading in that one spot & would have just tired & sank...I saw a show on this ,it said if they don't know HOW to get out by going to the steps they will drown...he now knows the dangers off the edge & he's NEVER out there alone.....it's not enough to know to dog paddle it's the locating & being able to swim to the steps that's critical...
