Most people don't understand the breeder's passion. None understand the responsibility of breeding, so, we are always going to have those disappointed friends, family, etc. So, as breeders either accept it or quit breeding.

I remember one of my female's first litter...she went till the final day of her last breeding. My breeder was assisting me with the the whelping. We were at her house in her guest bedroom. Both my mentor and I were laying in bed, watching my female very closely, feeling very sorry for ourselves because we weren't going to be able to leave for a dog show the next morning. At 9:30 P.M. we witnessed a huge contraction go through my females body. We looked at each other and both went "YES" we're going. She delivered her last pup at 12:40 A.M. Called hubby and told him he was to have nursery duty over the weekend. He was there at 9:00 A.M. contacted the vet for his cell phone number and I was on the road at 10:30 A.M.
