I am not attacking you just responding to your comment as a poor person i guess. I cant afford to pay 1000 for a dog and as a poor person i think its rediculous, unless you have disposable income that allows it.
I was lucky enough to get a Yorkie from a really great breeder here in
pr and well knows around the world. She isnt into breeding Yorkies to sell the, she is really in it to show them. she will sell the ones who don't meet show standards in the true spirit of finding a forever family. I paid 300 for my HIGH QUALITY boy. I got sooo lucky. People snub their noses to me and say, Oh u got him so cheap because he was older, but i have seen people on here ask for 1000 or more for Yorkies with bloodlines not near as good as mine that are 1/12 -2 years old. And most other people who breed on here do breed to make money and i aint mad at anyone who works. But ironically it made me laugh when someone commented on a certain celeb purchasing a Yorkie for 3000, but they are sold for almost 2500 here. and no matter what u truely don't know who ur purchasing a pet from until you have had your pet for a while, and have asked them for guidance. IF they help you they are awsome.. IF they dont help you then they suck.
anyway.. now down to my medical expenses. I do the same for my pet that i would do for my son. As medical needs come I budget money in for that each month. I liken it to the fact that some poor families children (real children) grow up to be doctors and lawyers, where as just because you have money doesnt mean ur kid will become a doctor or lawyer (examples the people you all love to hate, Paris, Britany, LIndsey)
My point is You don't have to have money to have common sense enough to love, take care, and make decisions to do right for a pet. When i got Ryoko i didn't go in and do everything i could at once. Its taken me 8 months to get him neutered. But i kinda prioritized things as well. First rabies shots. every three months to get his nails trimmed. I groom him myself, I get food every 4 months( a huge bag) IF he needs his teeth clean then I will go in a few months and get them cleaned.. Its all about budgeting. You get procedures done that you can afford.
and as far as why a Yorkie cost so much, because many people don't take their time and actually look for reputable breeders, they can run into a pet shop and buy one on a whim not caring where he or she came from.
More power to the people who can afford to throw 2g's dpwn on a pet. but for those who truly cant afford on , but who know a Yorkie is for them, then do ur research and take ur time, God will bless you like he did me. I got Ryoko with gorgeous hair and already potty trained and well tempered. Maybe I will get another next month and it will work out the same.
