I had it done at age 30 due to stage 2 cervical cancer and excessive pain and bleeding (sometimes my periods would last 2 - 3 WEEKS)
Compared to how much pain I was in BEFORE the hysterectomy, the hysterectomy itself was a breeze!
Losing the ovaries and being propelled into surgical menopause - not a breeze! It's only been a year and we are still trying to figure out the correct hormone replacement for me.
