I think it depends on the dog how early the lap dog state starts. Lex it was immediate...being a man I guess that need for petting is about right ;0). Lulu is now 8 1/2 months and she is still so damn rambunctious. I can't get her to sit still long enough and let me have my way rubbing and cuddling her. She is 2 1/2 lbs of pure energy.
