When I took Archie to the groomer, he freaked out when he was caged. Archie is not used to being in a cage because he's got the run of the house. As I've posted before, I'm not at all an advocate of keeping a dog in a cage. And I've stopped taking him to the groomer. He gets in the tub, gets a bath with shampoo and conditioner, and his hair brushed. My boyfriend cuts his nails and I put stuff in his ear every week to clean it out, and we just got these toothbrush wipes to clean his teeth. After all this, Archie just runs into the kitchen because he knows he gets treats. Perhaps you can try to train your dog to go on a wee wee pad? Archie goes outside, but on his wee wee pad in emergencies or the middle of the night.
