I read an article years ago in Reader's Digest about how much more difficult it is for women to quit than men (I think it had something to do with percentage of body fat). Anyway, the article suggested that women use the patch AND the gum at the same time. I talked to my Dr. about it and she agreed. So, if you're a real heavy smoker, or the pat doesn't seem to be taking the edge off, try adding a pice of gum here and there.

It's been one week today for me. This is only the second time in 34 years I've quit. The first time, I only lasted 3 months. This time, I didn't really plan it. I joined a gym and it seemed so oxymoronic for me to be working out and smoking, so I took the plunge. Between the two, I feel really great and wish I'd done this ages ago.

Good luck to you!
