It looks like we won’t be members of the yorkie owners club after all
– in a strange twist of events we have had to say no to the puppy. We had been on a waiting list for a rescue greyhound, but as we have cats it had to be a cat-safe one. After 6 months of waiting we went for our second choice which was a yorkie and thought that if a cat safe greyhound was ever found we would see how settled the yorkie was and assess the situation. But when I got home last night I had a phone call from the greyhound rescue to say they had found us what appears to be an ideal match. Unfortunately we can’t take on both at the same time and the rescue dog has to take priority.
I’m sad at losing the puppy but happy about being able to give a rescue dog a home. It was a hard decision, but maybe after we’ve had the greyhound for a year or so and see how she is with small dogs we may be able to think about a yorkie again…………
