Equipment needed during or after birth of puppes? When do I call the vet for help? When and why the puppies go to the vet? Why did I really want to breed?

I am also thinking about having puppies .I have the male picked from the same line (not brother & sister), he is small, under four pounds. My Sweetie is just over five pounds.
Any informatoin that you-all would pass on would be great.
One question, at what age do you breeders think is good for a first litter. I hard the 18 months or the third heat? What about the secon heat,14 months?
