My mom has a sewing machine and I know she wouldn't have a problem with me using it. She is really sick (she has non-alcohol related liver disease and is on a liver transplant list) so I know she doesn't feel like giving me lessons though.
I honestly thought it wouldn't be that hard to make a little dress. Then it starts talking about "gathering" the material and all these kinds of stitches. I thought there was only one kind of stitch - the kind that held it together. I didn't know it mattered if it was straight or crooked or ziggy zaggy. Apparently it does.
Wow. It's just like that cross stitch stuff. They take something that looks so simple and give you all these directions that make it so friggin' complicated!
