Little "T" Survives Little "T" was the third pup born on July 10th, weighing 3 ounces, only five days after his mama's first birthday. The first two, weighing 4 ounces each, didn't make it. All came breach to our 3.5 pound female, Peanut. For those ready to jump down my throat for breeding such a small female, don't! It certainly wasn't planned and especially with a 5 pound male. When I say MoJo has the mojo, I'm not kidding. It was less than a minute and he was hooked! We hosed them down with cold water and he released but still managed to live up to his name.
Last Monday I called the vet to set up a C-section. Based on the one and only time MoJo got her, the appointment was set for Friday. But that didn't happen as she delivered them on her own the next morning. I was in total shock that she had three and that she was able to deliver them on her own even though they came breach and lost the first two. When the third appeared hanging from her rear, I rushed her to the vet who is only 5 miles away. I layed her on the table wrapped up in a towel. He pulled away the towel and Little "T" had been born. Everything checked out great, mama got a shot and we were sent on our way.
The first couple of days was nip and tuck as she was not a very good mama and he wasn't nursing so I hand feed him and then would put milk drops on him so she would wash him. That worked and by Friday he began nursing on his own. Tomorrow he will be a week old. He's very dark color, much like Dinky and Star were as new borns. Dinky stayed dark, even his head, and star is just to opposite, very light silver. Little "T" has a big white crest on his chest like his great grandmother Reggie.
The first picture was taken on Friday and the second one this morning.
