Yes, it cost me more, but I work 3 jobs so that I can support my dogs and my passion of showing dogs. If I do have a dog that I need to place, they usually have had all of their shots. Also, it is very important to me that they be socialized by the mother and the other dogs that I own. They learn how to relate to other dogs and it is amazing to watch a pup give to it's mothers will when she is training them. People should train their kids that well. JMO...

I agree with you Sonja.....Puppies 1st shots aren't usually or at least shouldn't be given until the 8 & 9th week (10 days for immunities to kick in)
2nd shot 3 weeks later. I don't let mine outside until their 2nd shot.

Besides, puppies go off food when they are relocated...or in any strange environment.....hyperglycemia can set in. Especially a pup that is 7 weeks, by gosh they barely are getting their teeth in, and have just started to eat well on their own.

Socialization from mother's siblings and others within the pack is very necessary. My mother's do their main training between 8 & 12 weeks.

Other's may have obtained their dogs at 7 weeks with no adverse reactions. But, from a knowledgable, experienced breeders those incidents are few and far between.
