Have the carpet cleaned to remove the scent. She put that scent there, so she waits until she can come inside. If you know about what time she will need to poop, then go outside with her, while she is on a leash. Tell her over and over, the word you use for poop. I use a retractable leash, so Maggie can have a little privacy. When I see Maggie get into poop position, I give her a little slack on her leash. As soon as your baby starts pooping, praise her --but not too loud--you don't want to scare the poop out of her. When she is finished, take her inside for a Poop treat. She will soon associate treat and poop. Sometimes I'm in a hurry for an appoinment, but I know when Maggie's poop times are. I can have Maggie potty anywhere from an hour early or later than her regular time, just on word command. She is 4 months old and completely house trained.
