We've always gotten slow leaks that we generally find when the car is in the driveway and they can repair the tire. I found out recently, the hard way of course, that if you do not pull over IMMEDIATELY you get something they called "flot rot"?? and they cannot repair the tire even if it's a puncture. I only pulled up about 1/4 mile to get to a spot where I could safely pull over, but it ruined the tire. Luckily it didn't ruin the rim. My husband showed me how to change the tire, but I'm not strong enough (and I'm no wimp) to get the tire off. Luckily I wasn't far from home and he came and helped me, but I would hate to get stuck on the highway! Scary!

We buy our tires from discount tire and get the warranty. Normally I think warranties are a waste of money but I've probably gotten 4 flats fixed + 1 new tire. They will fix your tires practically for free until they are worn out. It's really a good deal.
