Never put a collar on a yorkie. Collapsing trachea problems are a risk with this breed. Buy a good quality, comfortable harness. The ladies were correct. If you had harmed her trachea, you more than likely would have heard a cough. Consider yourself lucky that you were warned. She may never have had any problem anyway, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Also, when you have her spayed, if you do, be certain you request the veterinarian to intubate her herself with the smallest tube and not allow a technician do it. That is simply being careful, not paranoid.
