 Great thread!
This is such a great thread. Just today I was worrying if Kiko was getting enough to eat, it was really getting to me. I was sitting with him when my husband came home and I was trying to tease him with the food to get him to eat it. I told my husband I was really worried about him and was thinking of taking him back to the vet. Then I come on the site and find this thread! I've been monitoring his eating and it comes to about 2 tbls which using the per pound measurment it's an ok amount. I was thinking of giving him boiled chicken and rice in his dry mix because I was so concerned. But with all this great advice I feel better and know so much more. I can see him picking out the rice and chicken and leaving the dry dog food to rot LOL. I can also see how the boiled chicken and rice or wet food could really help a puppy that is in serious need of gaining weight and how best to wiegh out the pros and cons before making a decision. The wierd thing is he's a little night owl and wants to play when it's time to go to bed! This is also the time he eats and drinks the most. Before this thread the amounts he was eating seemed so small I was afraid it wasn't enough. I feel more secure that he is doing ok now thanks!!! |
