I'm not sure about boys, but I have a girl and usually what I do is give here what they call a sanitary or hygienic cut. I (or the groomer) shaves the hair all along her belly and privates. We also shave the butt so the feces doesn't stain her coat when she's going nor while she pees. Maybe if there is a little hair at the end of this "peeper", it cause the urine to kind of trickle in a different direction. Just a suggestion. I was also concerned about cutting the hair, but you really cannot see it at all. Hope you find a solution.
