I took Sugar to the vet today and got a micro chip for her. She yelped a little when they put it in but the vet said that she did better than most small dogs. She's such a brave girl!

I told my vet that I've heard that since there is more than one manufacturer of the chips that some people aren't having the chip put in because there isn't a universal scanner. My sis isn't getting her new lab chipped because she says if the vet doesn't have the wand to go w/ the chip your dog has it won't do any good. My vet said that if the wand doesn't match the chip it won't give you any info, BUT it WILL show that there is a chip. Then you can find a vet/shelter that has a wand that will read the brand of chip in the dog & voila...a found owner!
