My thoughts exactly. If someone steals your dog, the first thing they're going to do is to remove any collars that may identify the dog as being yours. Now, if you're dog is just lost, then yes, it would be beneficial.
I like the GPS Microchip idea. My one question is, if you're dogs are already microchipped (as mine are) then is it possible to easily remove the current microchip in order to insert the new one?
BTW, when I got my dogs chipped, they told me that the chips they were inserting were "universal"...meaning that any wand could read them. WRONG!!! The older wands did not read my dog's chips...SO unless the vet has a new model, it'll be impossible to identify my dogs with the chips.
