Well, there were 2 standard poodles being groomed as well. this lady started to lower the table with a poodle on it and the dog fell!!! still in the collar that hangs down to hold the dogs. I felt so horrible for the poor dog. it fell off the table, hit the lower part of the table with it's hip, and then to the floor. it pulled the arm down with it so the dog was not choking but it scared the daylights out of me. I felt horrible. i am sure this is more common than i care to know but it was very sad for me to see it. i'm glad i groom my dogs myself. they may not look the best...but they look fine. and i know how they are treated and what goes on.
Lots of scary things can happen when you are not there. I hope that groomer was nice enough to tell the owner so they could look out for any issues that may arise. When I got Lulu back from her first grooming session she was super traumatized. The thing is that Lex was fine but I vowed to learn how to do it. Hubby is a Licensed barber so I purchased doggie clippers and they had an offer for a DVD on how to groom for free which I sent off for. I can't wait to get it. I am going to work on her and learn to groom her myself. I won't ever take her to a groomer again.
