In case you don't remember, my maltese/yorkie had a liver shunt. He finally had the surgery last week and is doing fine! However, I have to put him on a low-protein diet.

My question is: Do you know of any low-protein dog food that I can get from somewhere other than a vet (i.e. Petsmart or Petco)? The Prescription Diet food is at a vet that's a bit far away from us, and it's on the pricey side (especially after we shelled out $1500 for surgery!).
