We, too, have been attempting the "speak" trick...no luck for us yet.

Emmy has learned to sit, up (stand up on back paws), down (lay down flat on the floor), and crawl (lay down flat on floor and shuffle [crawl] along).

Oscar has only mastered sit and up!

My son has a dacshund (sp) and he taught her to speak. He would say "SPEAK" and then he would bark. She caught on quickly. I have been trying the same method--my two just look at me like I am crazy!

You might try looking under the training section of YT...I have not searched for the SPEAK command.
