A very good friend of mine got her pet back because of a scanner, the pet was in Aspen, got lost, my friend had her registered with her vet in Texas, she was found in Aspen, scanned, and notified the Vet in Texas, who in turn notified the owner and she got her dog back, so I do believe that Vets, and mostly shelters do use scanners, I have 3 Vets I use in the Area, and know almost all the Vets, between Aspen, and Grand Junction, and I know they are required to have scanners, and are the ones who put in the micro chips, so I believe more Vets than not use them, expecially when notified that their is a missing, possibly stolen Yorkie, in the Modesto Area, Calif is way ahead of us in the number of animals that change hands because of population! So I am not going down that road that Vets do not use Scanners that are aware of the amount of missing yorkies in the Modesto Area, and the fact that there are a lot of theft rings that steal them. Especially when asked to scan any new customers who have an 18 mo old neutered pet that has been stolen. Vets do not have a reason to scan your pet when you bring it to them, as they have know you since you have had your puppy. But I do believe they scan new pet owners who bring in an older puppy for the first time, espically when so many are being stolen in Calif, and all over the country. I also do not want to think that the person who stole Zeke is headed to Mexico, after all the trouble they went to to get into this country, to steal a dog and go back to Mexico, that does not make any since to me. They can get a lot more money for a dog here than they can in Mexico, so to me they are not going to give up everything they have in this country to steal a yorkie and run to Mexico with it. I feel we should be concerned with what we can do here to get Zeke back, someone, somewhere knows where Zeke is, and with the large reward, i feel we will get him back. If he is in Mexico that door is closed, so why go down that path. I'd like to keep the focus positive, and do all we can to get information about Zeke as the person who took him has friends that i am sure could use 1,000.00, even the person who took him! That person could get Zeke returned by someone else, and if they really wanted a yorkie, they could get a puppy with that kind of money and take the pressure off themselves. I believe they steal yorkies to get rewards, not because of the love for the breed! Please Dear Lord bring Zeke home to Maureen. In the name of Jesus we thank you. Amen. These are just my thoughts, anything I guess is possible, but I feel Zeke is here in Calif. and hopefully will be found.
