I would definitely not let him outside without you. That way you can make sure that he goes outside and don't come in until he does go. I would use a command as in "go potty" and keep repeating it until he does go and give him a treat immediately upon going. Eventually he will get what you expect him to do outside. but I would stay with him even after he does get it, because it's the only way you will make sure that he has gone. (And you can make it a bonding thing between you and he.) |
