Dog toothpaste, well, most of it, is enzymatic, so the great thing about it, other than being safe for them to digest in small quantities is that it actually brushes for you. Vinnie licks it all off the brush first, which is enough to do the job it was made for, then i let him chew on the brush because it does help. My point is don't panic if your dog won't let you open up it's mouth and actively brush like a human would! Atleast this is what my vet says!
