Oh my, he reminds me ALOT of Stedman (my male Yorkie) - look wise! Gizmo is SO, SO CUTE!
He is just adjusting to the new house (sounds like he's having a hard time, poor little guy
) - I haven't read through all the other posts, but is the crate in your bedroom where he can see you at night? If not, the fact that he is in a new place, on top of him possibly not being able to see you is probably what is causing him to do this and act this way.
Maybe try putting a t-shirt of yours in there...or something with your scent on it in the crate with him so that he feels that you are right there next to him, and he feels "safe"
