Unfortunately, I have an open kitchen style. So, I can't put up a gate. I used to let her have one of the bedroom upstairs with pee pad inside. (She was 9 months old already at that time and pretty much house trained already, but she just moved in with us.) She tore up the whole pee pad and made a mess. So, I didn't let her free roam around the room or house anymore if I am not home after that incident.
