I'm not a groomer or an expert but when Chanel was little she got a REALLY bad grooming job and the hair did NOT grow back the same - she was over 1-1/2 years old when she got that cut - but the dark hair just never really came back like it had been....I think if your puppy NEEDS to be cut/shaved down due to matts - do it - but if not ....then trims are ok - I'm curious now also about the hair changing.

I bet your puppy looks cute ...it's better to cut to little than too much
