Potty training - the thorn in our side! I think we all have stories about our achievments or lack thereof.
I agree that crate training will help considerably as a tool when you are not home or can not keep an eye on the little one. If he is out and you are nearby, try keeping a leash on him so he can't go too far and you can see if he looks like he's going to potty so you can move him quickly to the piddle pad or outside.
Tink still has accidents at 10 months but generally, she runs to the piddle pad to poop and barks at me when she needs to pee. I keep an eye on her right after she eats and right after rest/nap times and after hard play.
If you use a crate, make sure his area is only big enough for him to stand up and turn around until he is trained. Otherwise, he may continue to pee in his crate and move to a dry area to sleep.
