I *try* not to sneak, but I have been known to do so on occasion.

I have found that normally when they say "no pets" they mean larger dogs. Most (not all) make exceptions for tiny dogs. One hotel manager told me that if it can be carried in something that looks like a piece of luggage then they have no problem with it!
