PLease don't get the anal glands expressed unless they are really needed. If you do, then it will just set things in motion to where they will need expressed all the time. My 15 year old Chihuahua nor my 2 and half year old Yorkies have never had it done and don't need it.
My Azrael also has the very thick hair. The Vet. said the hair keeps them cool in the summer and warm in the winter, but I do clip Azrael's really short at neck to base of tail, all the way around, leaving her legs, chest, tail and head longer. I cut Zada that way, but regretted it because her hair is thiner and she looked too spindly, so I'm letting it grow back out. |
