I found this in an article...thought I would share......

Mist their paws: that's the only place animals sweat, making them prone to heat stroke. Use a spray on dogs and moisten cats' paws with a damp cloth.

Make a Pet-sicle: pets get dehyrdated on hot days because they sometimes forget to drink. To entice yours, freeze low sodium chicken broth in an ice tray and drop some cubes into their water bowl.

Use Sunscreen: apply animal-safe sunscreen to the tips of ears, the bridge of nose, the underbelly and around the eyes and lips.

Take him with you: never leave your pet in a car (duh). Car interiors heat up an average of 40 degrees in 30 minutes, which can quickly lead to heat stroke or death.

Say no to tangles: brushing frequently keeps the coat tangle-free to it won't retain excess heat.

How can you tell if it's too hot for your pet.....if you are sweating doing simple tasks, then it's too hot for you furry friends.
