I use a puppy pen w/ hygenic floors. I place it outside w/o the pan in the bottom but I have it a level that the dog can't touch the ground. I put the puppy in the pen and tell him to go potty. If the dog is one that I show he will continue using the puppy pen until I'm not showing him anymore, otherwise after the shots are finished I start taking the pup outside and put him on the ground instead of in the pen.
