There are two CKCs - the Continental Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club. The Canadian Kennel Club is basically the Canadian equivalent to AKC with similar standards so it is possible for a CanKC dog to become AKC regsitered. However the ContKC isn't really a reputable registry and is one that will basically register any dog for a registration fee. They register mixed breeds, purebreds, and all. There are so many registries out there but there are only a few reputable ones such as AKC, UKC, CanKC, etc. AKC won't register any dogs that don't have AKC parents.
