I use to live in NY and Manhatten is far from Jones Beach. If memory serves me right I believe Jones Beach is in Queens. And that would mean you would have to go from Manhatten through Brooklyn into Queens. Maybe take the subway into Brooklyn and go to Coney Island. I heard they fixed it up.
