As we have discussed, it just happens. Since you saw a green discharge so early, it is obivious a placenta had separated..and that caused the first puppy to die most likely...I doubt the exam brought on contactions unless Bell was starting on her own.

I would feed the girl to be sure..it may take too much energy to nurse and the calories she gets will go right into nursing, not gaining...

There was a problem before the exam...pups were most likely on the verge of coming anyway.
I have had many early litters...a few girls never went more then 56 or 57...some pups live and some do not..I wish you all the best.
