We used a no-chew spray, and it seemed to work well. I lent it out to friends too, and they had success with it. It wasn't bitter apple-I heard some dogs actually LIKE bitter apple. It was a PetSmart generic no-chew spray-I think it cost about $8 for a hairspray sized bottle, and we still have a ton left-we bought it when Emma was a puppy a year ago, and sprayed just about everything in sight!

I have used the stuff that you spray where you WANT them to pee, and it totally doesn't work. Don't waste the $ on it-You'll have better luck moping up some of the pee with the pad, and then trying to get them to pee on it again.

Good luck!
