This was my situation. He really wanted to go and I didnt. Never watched the cartoon. He took me to dinner to butter me up and I caved and said I would go. Loved the movie. It was awesome. I would go see it again. He laughed and said you didnt even want to see the movie and you were really into. I say GO!!!!
