i'm not sure if you will need to scrape away the glue or not. the guy at lowes in our area was super helpful in picking grouts and glazes and tools necessary.
i recommend (HIGHLY) some comfy knee pads and some big old cheap buckets to stir in. also, decide how far apart you want the tile to be. the farther apart, the more you will see the grout.
o! also, my mom told me when picking carpet to pick a color that is close to the color of the dirt in our yard. you may want to consider this with your grout. (of course the white looks nice, but only for a little while!)

Thank you sooo much! That was super helpful! I'm thinking large tiles, tan in color with a tan grout. We have white grout in our house, which they apparently never sealed, so we need to do that as well. Grrrrr to house flippers who do cheapy jobs!
