That is industrial strength velcro and I have never had anyone complain of it breaking loose (knock on wood)
I also like the velcro better then the snaps, I will tell you a little trick that makes it easier to get it on and off,
I put it on upside down, fasten around the belly 1st and then twist it around and then fasten the neck, and then when you go to take it off, un-fasten the neck and twist it around and then un-fasten the belly part. It makes it so much easier and Layla won't be so jumpy.
