I"m crying as I'm reading this thread. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I know how much it hurts. My parents had to do this very thing a year ago with their dog who was 13. I was home the weekend before and knew it would be the last time I saw her. I still miss her when I go home...their house just doesn't seem the same without her.
