I thought garter snakes were black with the long yellow stripes running down on each side of it's body. I have had one of them in my yard this summer and I screamed when it ran out from a bush I was watering. Luckily, my Zachary has never seen it yet. You might want to look up snakes on google and compare pictures to see what it is for certain. I am glad your baby isn't throwing up anymore, it could have been from all the excitement of finding that ugly and scary snake.
