My Bitsy follows me everywhere when I am outside..... but I live in the middle of nowhere so I never worry about another person, car... etc.... Bitsy is 3 1/2pounds... I don't think it is really the size of the dog... probably just their personalities... and some training that contribute to the fact that they don't run off.
