This is the basic set up of how I potty-trained Chloe. Over time, I started extending the time between scheduled potty breaks. I started to notice after a while that she would scratch at the door to be let out. I would give her a treat and praise when I saw her scratching at the door, and after she'd potty outside.
Pretty much by the time she was five months old, there stopped being accidents in the house. Occasionally, there will be a phantom turd that appears from no where, but these are extremely few and far between, and usually when no one has taken her out, or the kids are playing video games, and probably not paying attention if she scratches at the door. |
