MIne is actually the wire stuff. She can't chew through it. I actually live on the first floor, but I didn't trust her not to squeeze through the bars & take off running. That's why I did it. Anyway, for those wanting to do it & worried about plastic, I used the wire (got it at Home Deopot) and zip ties.
