I thought of this thread yesterday when my MIL came over to see Sugar for the first time. After she said how cute & well behaved Sugar was she said, "She's big for a Yorkie." (She saved herself by complimenting her first.) She has an aunt who had Yorkies many, many years ago so I'm not sure if she even remembers what size they were. Sugar is 10 pounds which is big for a Yorkie, but she's smaller than my cat so I think she's pretty stinkin' small. I laughed to myself when she said it because I remembered reading this thread. I adopted Sugar because I wanted a new member for our family, not as a show dog so I don't care how much she weighs. As long as I can pick her up and cuddle with her it doesn't matter one bit to me. I'm glad that I had read all of your comments though because I do have a tendancy to get defensive when someone says anything negative about someone I love. Because of all of you I was just able to say, "Oh, I think she's pretty small, Shadow (my cat) is bigger than her and she fits in the girls doll strollers." Ha! It felt good not to worry about what she thought. Thanks!
